The voice of conscience is the voice of God. Everyone has it, but not everyone listens to it.
Yogananda, Paramahansa. The Second Coming of Christ: The Resurrection of the Christ Within You (p. 325). Self-Realization Fellowship. Kindle Edition.

You might have sometime said, “my conscience don’t allow me to do this”. What does that mean ? What is your conscience ? The voice of conscience comes from discrimination and inner wisdom. It is our divine guidance.

Conscience is our Divine Guidance

After having an argument with another person, we regret in solitude. After telling lie to someone, when we are alone we think we should not have done that. When we are alone we talk to ourselves. We listen to our inner voice. After doing some bad, often we regret our behaviour when we are alone. Our inner voice says what we have done is not right. This inner voice is our conscience. Our conscience guides us to do the right thing.

Our default nature is divine. We are always good, calm, honest, compassionate and peace loving people. This is the nature of our soul. But, under the influence of over powering ego, we become bad, restless, dishonest, selfish. But when momentarily we get back to our divine nature, we regret our bad behaviour. Conscience is the voice of our default divine nature.

Meditation makes our Conscience more stronger

In our ego consciousness, we give more importance to our needs and behave selfish, intolerant of others and get angry quickly, don’t mind telling lies for our own benefits. As we meditate, our consciousness rises to soul consciousness. Our external facing body consciousness gradually turns inwards and we become aware of our astral and causal body. We get access to our divine qualities in our causal body. The causal brain in our cerebrum is the house of Divine Wisdom, the causal medulla centre is the power of Intuition, the causal cervical center is our calmness, the causal dorsal center is the vital power of our life-force and causal lumber is the center of self control and the power of adherence and restraint comes from sacral and coccygeal centre.

As we learn to live more in soul consciousness, the divine qualities becomes our default nature. With developed intuition, our intelligence becomes more discriminative. We get access to divine wisdom in the causal cerebrum. Thus our conscience becomes more stronger and dependable.

With developed conscience, we will behave better and do more right things in our life

As we meditate and develop our conscience and learn to listen and depend more on our inner voice, we will behave better and do more right things in our life. When we are in the cross road of deciding something, our conscience will always direct us towards the right path. We will not be alone to decide what is right or wrong, we will be guided by divine wisdom all the time.
